Is there a conspiracy to save fuel?

With high gas prices and flights being cancelled due to "maintenance issues" ( funny these planes didnt break when time were good) is there a conspiracy to save fuel?? I think the government is rationing fuel by pricing it off the market. They are trying to tell us something people, we dont have an endless supply of oil!! Use m transit and stay home all you can America!!
